Salad Luncheon Update
Our Annual UMW Salad Luncheon will be taking place
Friday, June 19th, at the Forster Community Center
from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
There are updated sign-up sheets hanging on the wall by Rev. Marcia’s office.
*Please check to see what you signed up to bring,
and for any job you have agreed to do.
Salad bowls will be available for pick up on Sunday, June 7th. Please take a bowl, and this is what you’ll bring your salad to the community building in.
If possible, please bring any food items to the community building the evening of Thursday, June 18th, starting at 5 p.m. Else after 8 a.m. on Friday, June 19th.
Please check off your name when you bring your items-the sheets will be hanging on the kitchen door.
Please bring any disposable plastic containers to the church before the luncheon.
We will need these for leftover salads.
If you have one, please wear your “Catch the Fire” t-shirt to the luncheon!
With your help we are looking forward to another successful salad luncheon, especially after last year’s cancellation due to the flood. Please come, share, and lend a hand to continue this annual United Methodist spirit of giving to our community.
If you have any questions, feel free to call:
Vicki Slack, Nancy DeJongh or Bobbie Kracht
The Rainbow Covenant Mission opportunity for June is from the Bluearea of the Rainbow: Iowa Annual Conference Advance Specials. This offering is designated for the DISASTER RELIEF FUND OF IOWA #223. Funds are used to provide assistance to persons following a natural disaster. You will recall how our community was on the receiving end of these funds last June when flood waters devastated areas of our community, destroying many homes and leaving others uninhabitable. The Missions committee has set a goal of $259 and we thank you for your generous support of this relief ministry. Envelopes for this offering can be picked up from the table in the narthex.
Do you sometimes find yourself pondering arcane statements
attributed to Jesus that just don’t seem to make sense?
Well, you’re not alone.
Please join a fun five week Sunday morning study,
which will meet in the church library at 8:30 A.M. before worship
beginning Sunday, June 28th.
Coffee, rolls & juice will be served as we read and study this book
by Talbot Davis. Materials for those interested will need to be ordered, so please use the sign-up sheet on the bulletin board
(by the East entry door) by June 15th if you plan on attending.
The new Liturgist sign-up sheet for July-Sept. is on the bulletin board (East entry)-please volunteer if you are able. Thank you!
Our church is in need of at least one volunteer to lead Bible Study at the Health Centre in July. The dates are Monday, July 6, and Monday, July 20. If you are able to help for one or both days, please contact Ken Barker or the office. If you would consider it, but have reservations, please talk to Ken-he has the resources to help you plan for the class.
Prayer concerns can be called into the office (472-2324) or emailed to the office at email@example.com or Rev. Marcia at firstname.lastname@example.org and they will be sent out.
If you (or someone you know) is not receiving the emails of the monthly church newsletter or weekly prayer partner & would like to be included, please contact the office to add your name to the list.
For those who are not able to receive our monthly newsletter by email, printed copies are available on the table by the mailboxes.
The May/June issues of Upper Room are available for $1.50 each. They are located on the table by the East stairs.
There is a new sign up for those willing to provide special music during the summer months. The sheet is on the bulletin board by the East entry doors. Please sign up to share your musical talents for any of the listed Sundays. Thank you.
The Flower Calendar for 2015 is hanging on the bulletin board by the East entry doors. We invite everyone to sign-up for the Sunday that is most convenient for you-to give altar flowers this coming year in memory or in honor of a loved one.
Extra directories have been placed in the pew hymnal racks. It was thought that having these available during worship would be beneficial, especially for someone new to our congregation or just visiting!
If you would like to receive services from RRUMC Caring Hands Meal Ministry and/or Transportation Ministry, contact the church office.
Thank you & God Bless!
